Ian Burton

"Many bear species are already at risk from environmental changes"

IAN BURTON

Ian Burton is an independent expert and leading international scientist on adaptation to climate change based in Toronto, Canada.

He is a Lead Author for the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which shared the Nobel peace Price with Al Gore in 2007. Ian carries out research and writes policy papers on ways in which natural ecosystems and human societies can cope with climate extremes and variability, and longer term changes.

Many ecosystems and species (including different species of bears) are already at risk from climate change, and Ian is active in support of many projects to protect wildlife and to expand our human sense of responsibility for our fellow-creatures on the planet, and hence is a keen proponent of the Hauser Bears project.
